The Royal School of Needlework has reached its 150th anniversary. This is no mean achievement and our major events this year are all about celebrating our history. But that is only the story so far.

Now, we must look ahead. We want to build on what we have achieved to set us on our way for the next 150 years. The RSN has many opportunities but we can only achieve these if we have the funding to underpin them.

The RSN is a registered charity and is not in receipt of any government funding so we are asking you, our Friends and Supporters, to help us raise a starting fund of £150K for our 150 Forward campaign.

The kind of things this could support include:

  • More bursaries to students
  • Developing a new Masters degree programme
  • Reviewing the Future Tutor programme to attract a wider range of people
  • Piloting programmes of stitch for mental health and wellbeing
  • Developing our programme for schools
  • Developing an online course on the history of embroidery
  • Enabling tutors and staff to take a sabbatical
  • And for new initiatives we have not yet developed

As a non-profit, the RSN has often lived hand-to-mouth but as we look forward we want this campaign to help us build for the future through important programmes that will support many people to achieve their dreams of tuition and working in hand embroidery.

The 150 Forward Campaign is needed now to be a significant contribution to the RSN’s future and of students yet to come. Supporting this campaign can really make a big difference for what the RSN is able to offer in the future.

Donate to the RSN 150 Forward Campaign

You can give a one-off donation or a regular gift, either monthly or annually. Regular gifts really help us to plan ahead knowing what money is coming in.

What is more, as a donor to this special campaign you can leave your message to the students and stitchers of the future — just add your message on the donation page.
