BA (Hons) Hand Embroidery

We do not receive any government funding to run our Degree programme and we rely on raising the funding from our supporters.  One of the ways you can help is by sponsoring a unit on our Degree programme as this will help us to deliver a first class course. Some sponsors combine sponsoring a unit with prizes for work on the unit, or with student bursaries.

As a sponsor, you would join others such as

  • The Worshipful Company of  Girdlers
  • The Worshipful Company of Haberdashers
  • The Worshipful Company of Needlemakers
  • Coats Foundation Trust
  • The Ashley Family Foundation

The RSN Collection and Archive

Our Collection and Archive comprises some 60,000 objects including embroideries, garments, designs, slides, photographs, pattern prickings of commissions and archive materials of the RSN’s history.

We are seeking sponsorship to help with cataloguing and digitising our Collection and Archive so this rich resource is accessible for students, researchers and individuals. This is a significant undertaking and to do this we require your financial support.

Currently our Collection and Archive is hidden away in cupboards and archival boxes, with very little being accessible.  Digitising some sample pieces from the Collection and Archive, along with the relevant metadata, would be a fantastic way for us to begin to open up the RSN Collection and Archive to researchers and the wider public.  We know we have a treasure trove of objects that have not been in the public domain.  Sponsoring a digitisation project would help to bring objects out of the cupboard and to show the world just what we have.

If you would like to discuss financial support for the Degree programme or the RSN Collection and Archive, please contact RSN Chief Executive, Dr Susan Kay-Williams on +44(0)20 3166 6936
