Learn traditional Blackwork embroidery stitches with this oak leaves design. This class provides a good grounding in Blackwork stitching, with three different patterns plus stem stitch outlines. The design brings an opportunity to learn about shading with Blackwork patterns in a straightforward way. All of the patterns will be covered in the class.
The sample is stitched on 16 count aida, but the kit is available on either aida or 32 threads-per-inch linen for a more challenging counting experience.
Please notify the tutor beforehand if you would like to work on 32 threads-per-inch linen. The tutor will demonstrate to the group, and give plenty of individual attention to each student allowing you to develop your embroidery skills. The class is suitable for beginners.
The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.
This class will run from 10am-4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU
