We are delighted to announce our partnership with The Aga Khan Centre in London’s vibrant King’s Cross and will be staging a one-day hand embroidery class there on Saturday 18 April to teach students how to embellish vintage fabrics and create their own unique textile motif.
Inspired by AKC Gallery’s exhibition Rethreading and Retracing, Textiles & Techniques by Bita Ghezelaygh (27 February – 3 May 2020), RSN Future Tutor, Sarah de Rousset-Hall will be working with the artist to teach you a variety of hand embroidery stitches including Chain Stitch, Buttonhole and Running Stitch. You will also be using beads and sequins to embellish your piece.
The class is suitable for all levels with beginners welcome. Cost: £60 including materials (you may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames on the day).
The workshop runs from 10.30am to 4pm at The Aga Khan Centre, 10 Handyside Street, London N1C 4DN. Please arrive by 10.15am. The Aga Khan Centre in London’s King’s Cross is a place for education, knowledge, cultural exchange and insight into Muslim civilisations.
Please note that this class is not included in any current RSN promotional discounts. Thank you.
