This one-day class allows you to explore stitch families and their potential. Many stitches have evolved from one basic process. We might know the basic stitch however there are many underused relatives that might just give the right effect for that difficult area, just when you cannot find the right one. You might find them easier to achieve than you think and with time to practice, enjoy the additional repertoire that experimenting will give you. Working on a linen thread and with one colour, we will look at how one stitch develops into others making a resource for you to use for future reference and projects within different techniques of embroidery.
The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.
This class will run from 10am-4pm at 3 Fowlers Yard, Back Silver Street, Durham DH1 3RA
