RSN Tutor, Deborah Wilding will be teaching a bespoke embroidery class at Fashion Museum Bath on Saturday 21 September 2019. Taking place during the world famous Jane Austen Festival in Bath, the class is suitable for all levels and is inspired by dress worn at the time of Jane Austen.
In this class you will create a Whitework lavender bag. The embroidery will be created on white linen with traditional stitches which are commonly used in many forms of Whitework embroidery including satin stitch, stem, chain stitch and pattern darning. The example has been photographed in a lavender colour so the detail can be seen clearly.
The class kit must be bought from the tutor on the day for £30 (cash only) and will include everything you require to complete the project.
You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.
The workshop runs from 10.00am to 4.00pm at Fashion Museum, Assembly Rooms, Bennett Street, Bath BA1 2QH. All attendees must be comfortable climbing stairs. The class takes place in the Fashion Museum Study Facilities, which is on the first floor of the Assembly Rooms. The class includes a ticket to the Museum, valid for a month from the date of the class.
