Tambour beading is the professional technique for applying beads, sequins and creating a decorative Chain Stitch, using a Tambour Hook. It is a popular Haute Couture technique found on red carpet dresses and International catwalks alike, that adds Hollywood glamour and sparkle to many a celebrity dress.
In this two day class you will learn how to prepare your Tambour Hook and holder, starting and finishing the thread, the basic Chain Stitch and how to apply beads and sequins to an Art Nouveau inspired design. The kit includes fabric, all the required threads, beads and sequins and detailed instructions with diagrams. By the end of the class and with a little practice, you will want to embellish your entire wardrobe with this rhythmic and therapeutic technique. No previous experience necessary and all levels welcome.
The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. Tambour hooks and holders can be borrowed or purchased on the day. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.
This class will run from 10am-4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU.
