During this two day class students will learn how to combine three techniques together, Appliqué, Goldwork and Raised Embroidery to create this glamourous and funky Flamingo.
You will be shown how to complete some basic felt padding for the Goldwork. In addition, you will be taught how to apply silk fabric to a background base fabric ready for embellishment. The funky feathers will be worked in a combination of Double Brussels Needlelace Stitch and embroidered Wired shapes which are cut out and applied to the body of this Flamingo.
The neck and under wing of this glamourous bird are worked in Couched Gold Passing and you will also learn how to Couch Pearl Purl and embellished with Cut Work in Bright Check and pink Purl.
The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.
