This stunning red spotted purple butterfly was first taught at the RSN USA Summer School in 2018 and due to popular demand, the class will be taught for the first time at Hampton Court Palace this summer.
This is a fantastic opportunity to create your own three dimensional butterfly. The project runs over the course of 5 days with an additional work on own day (Tuesday 9 July) built in which would allow you come in and stitch in the classroom
Owen will guide you through the embroidery, demonstrating each stage of the project. All aspects of the project will be taught and students will be encouraged to sample to develop their knowledge and skill.
It’s not intended that the project will be completed in the duration of the lessons however home work will be encouraged to enable each stage of the project to be taught in the class room.
The project will be worked off a ring frame and table clamp. The kit includes full instructions, materials and photographs. The central body of the butterfly is constructed using a lined bag filled with emery powder.
You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.
This class will run from 10am-4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU
