« Day Classes
Please note this is an onsite class which will run from 10am-4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU.
All onsite RSN Day Classes are run in accordance with the latest UK government social distancing guidelines.
The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. In the classroom, all workspaces have been measured to ensure social distancing is maintained (see classroom images in the Gallery). All demonstrations are delivered by use of a visualiser. Masks are to be worn in all public areas and whilst moving round the classroom but when you are at your own workspace you may remove it. There are hand sanitiser stations both inside and outside the classroom.

This one day class is an introduction to the Whitework technique of pulled work. The class will cover several different pulled patterns and some surface embroidery.
This technique involves counted patterns on an open weave linen, where the threads of the linen are 'pulled' together to create open patterns, reminiscent of lace. The design is worked with a white thread on a white fabric to create the image of a sailing boat.
No experience is necessary for this class and there will be plenty of opportunity during the class to ask the Tutor questions.
The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.
