For the Rest of the World bookings will close on Monday 12 October

For UK and Europe bookings will close on Monday 19 October to allow for the kit to be posted out in time for the class.

Please note that the cost includes the necessary kit but does not include shipping, which will be added automatically at the checkout.

Raised Embroidery uses an array of different materials and embroidery techniques to tell a contemporary story in stitch using three dimensional elements. Designs can be varied and imaginative, offering scope for a high degree of creativity.

This fun and brightly coloured Flamingo design will introduce you to some of the most commonly used traditional Stumpwork/Raised Embroidery stitches. The design was inspired by a piece Amy stitched as a Future Tutor...'Felipe' (see photo in Gallery).

The Flamingo is worked on linen using a variety of stitches including Raised Stem Band, Long & Short, French Knots, Stem Stitch, Felt padding, Wrapped wire and Corded Needlelace.

The finished Flamingo measures 8cms in height.

The kit contains everything needed to complete the project:

Instruction booklet, 30 x 30 cm linen with design, 30 x 30cm calico,  Hand dyed Pink variegated Perle cotton by Oliver Twist, Stranded cotton in black, white, maroon & turquoise, Paper cover wire, Embroidery Needle size 10, Tapestry Needle size 22 and Chenille Needle size 22.

There will be plenty of opportunity during the class to ask the Tutor questions and in advance of the class all preparation information will be emailed to you along with an invitation to join the class on the day.

The class kit will be posted out to you. The kit includes all the materials you require to complete the project. It would be useful to have a pencil and paper in case you wish to take extra notes and a pair of embroidery scissors  and a 6"hoop will be needed.
