How do you create colours that you see, in coloured pencil? How can you mix 5 colours together and get 60?
how do you choose colours or a scheme, or find that little splash of the colour which will really set off your drawing or embroidery?
This day will help you see more colours, learn how to mix them with blending coloured pencils and create your own colour wheel with tints and shades. Learn the basic language of colour and some ways of choosing colour
schemes, as well as considering your instinctive response to it. Collect things you can find around your homeand outside: glazed pots, textiles, pebbles, leaves, fruit, vegetables. We’ll then study them closely, learning to
see the subtlety of colours they present, and look at how to mix them in coloured pencil, watercolour pencils andother media. We’ll also consider what effect the background colours have and look at how colours relate.
Structure of the day: Login in using the link provided beforehand ready to start at 10. We will have breaks around 11a.m. and for lunch between 1-2pm. If you want direct feedback on your work from Caroline, share your photos with her via WhatsApp or email during the day.
You will need to acquire the following:
A4 soft-bound sketchbook or pad
B and 2B graphite pencils
A tin of at least 12 good quality colour pencils
Water soluble pencils will give you more options, in which case add round and flat brushes and water pots
For anyone who wants to learn or practise their skills of drawing from close observation, a useful skillfor creating your own designs. Some basic drawing skills will be useful as we will be doing some observational drawing.
Your Zoom link will be sent a minimum of 48 hours prior to the class and will be sent to the email address you booked the class with. If you do not receive it, check your junk mail to see if it is there and if you still do not have it then please email [email protected]
