£120.00
* This class is EXCLUSIVE to the RSN *
Please note that this is an online class. Please click here to view important joining information about online classes.
The class takes place over 2 consecutive weeks:
Friday 12 & 19 February 2021
For the Rest of the World bookings have closed.
For UK and Europe bookings will close on Monday 9 February to allow for the kit to be posted out in time for the class.
Please note that the cost includes the necessary kit but does not include shipping, which will be added automatically at the checkout.
This two session online class is suitable for beginners who would like to try embroidery for the first time, or those who have not picked up a needle since childhood and who are looking for a new, exciting and rewarding hobby.
The dragon design was inspired by the Chinese New Year celebration, where dragon dances are performed to scare away evil spirits. After such a challenging 2020 we are sure your own hand stitched dragon will only help, despite this year being the year of the Ox.
Students will learn the basics of hand embroidery working with brightly coloured stranded and perle cotton threads on a cream cotton. The class will teach you how to start and finish threads neatly as well as several commonly used stitches including, Chain Stitch, Stem Stitch, French Knots, Double Running Stitch and Whipped & Woven Wheels. The dragon is highlighted with gold thread using the technique known as Couching.
The kit contains all materials needed to complete the project.
You will need your own embroidery scissors and an 8" ring frame. Magnifiers and lights might be helpful, but are not essential.
Attendees Outside the UK
This class will run from 6.30-9.00pm (18:30 to 21:00 hours) UK local time. If you are outside of the UK please check your local time, particularly if your location changes to/from Daylight Savings Time on a different schedule to the UK during October/November and March/April. To check and convert times please visit TimeAndDate.com. We cannot be held responsible for incorrect time attendance. Thank you.
