The class takes place on the following dates:

Wednesday 1 and 8 December 2021 2pm - 4:30pm

For the Rest of the World bookings will close on Wednesday 17 November to allow for the kit to be posted out in time for the class.

For UK and Europe bookings will close on Wednesday 24 November to allow for the kit to be posted out in time for the class.

Please note that the cost includes the necessary kit but does not include shipping, which will be added automatically at the checkout.

This Winter Wreath is a frosty, delicate design of hellebore, spruce and berries with just a tiny amount of sparkly winter frost. Over the course of the two sessions, your tutor will introduce you to a range of surface embroidery stitches including the much admired technique of Silk Shading or ‘painting with a needle’.

It is worked in a combination of DMC Stranded cotton, DMC Etoile and Au Ver A Soie ‘Soie d’Alger’ threads on the highest quality light grey Belgian linen. It is aimed at stitchers of all abilities, including those with very little experience of embroidery.

The stitches covered are as follows: Starting and Finishing; French Knots; Split Stitch; Silk Shading; Stem Stitch; Open Fly Stitch; Straight Stitch and Padded Satin Stitch.

It is worked in a colour palette that is wintery, delicate, but not necessarily ‘Christmassy’, although it would make a lovely Christmas gift or centrepiece. It also transfers well to napkins or a tablecloth for the festive period.

Finished size of the embroidery is approximately 15 cm in diameter.

There will be plenty of opportunity during the class to ask the Tutor questions and in advance of the class all preparation information will be emailed to you along with an invitation to join the class on the day.

Your Zoom link will be sent a minimum of 48 hours prior to the class and will be sent to the email address you booked the class with. If you do not receive it, check your junk mail to see if it is there and if you still do not have it then please email [email protected]

The class kit will be posted out to you. Your kit includes everything you need including a full colour, step by step instruction booklet. The only things you’ll need are an 8” ring frame and embroidery scissors. .It would be useful to have a pencil and paper in case you wish to take extra notes.
