The class takes place over 6 weeks:
Friday 10 & 24 September 2021 10am - 12 noon
Friday 8 & 29 October 2021 10am - 12 noon
Friday 5 & 19 November 2021 10am - 12 noon

This six week course explores the various techniques used in Whitework embroidery and  you will create six samples in total, which can be used as reference for bigger projects, and further study.

Course Detail
Pulled Work – Counted surface decoration pulling the warp and weft of even
weave, or plain weave fabric to create a lace type effect.
Broderie Anglaise and Cutwork – Worked on a firm linen or cotton fabric,
creating eyelets, and Cutwork patterns worked with overcast, and Surface
Stitches.
Drawn Thread Work – Withdrawing threads from the weave, to create bands for decoration.
Shadow Work – Worked on a sheer fabric, using Herringbone Stitch, and Shadow Appliqué.
Fabric Manipulation – Creating folds, pleats and gathers, to create fabric
texture.
Mountmellick – Using Surface Stitches to create texture.

There is no kit for this class, but  you will be sent information in advance, on how to prepare for this course ready for the first day of teaching.
