The ‘Spring Fling’ project will introduce you to a range of stitches commonly used in Jacobean Crewelwork. We will explore a range of textures, looking at technique, angle, coverage and tension.
This project would be a great class for people who have experience of embroidery already or who are considering certificate level studies and would like to boost their knowledge, skills and confidence.
The finished piece measures 25 x 19cm and would make a great box lid, cushion front or bag panel if you were seeking to make a practical item, or simply a beautiful framed piece of artwork for your wall.
The kit includes everything you need to complete the project as well as full step-by-step instructions which will enable you to complete the project in your own time.
Suitable for those who have already experienced this technique. There will be plenty of opportunity during the class to ask the Tutor questions and in advance of the class all preparation information will be emailed to you along with an invitation to join the class on the day.
All the stitches covered in this class and more can be found on the RSN Stitchbank.
Your Zoom link will be sent a minimum of 48 hours prior to the class and will be sent to the email address you booked the class with. If you do not receive it, check your junk mail to see if it is there and if you still do not have it then please email [email protected]
The class kit will be posted out to you. The kit includes all the materials you require to complete the project. It would be useful to have a pencil and paper in case you wish to take extra notes and a pair of embroidery scissors. You will need either a 10 inch hoop (we will move the embroidery around) or a roller frame (You will need to have the fabric in the roller frame prior to the start of the first class.
