The class takes place from 2pm-4.30pm on the following dates:

Saturday 19 & 26 March 2022

For the Rest of the World bookings will close on Friday 4 March 2022 to allow for the kit to be posted out in time for the class.

For UK and Europe bookings will close on Friday 11 March 2022 to allow for the kit to be posted out in time for the class.

Please note that the cost includes the necessary kit and tracked postage.

This design was inspired by the beautiful and iconic ‘Issoria’ collection of fabrics and wallpapers created by the ‘Designers Guild’ of London, and founded by Tricia Guild in 1970.

The design measures 11.5 cm by 6 cm and is worked on a pale green linen base fabric with embroidery completed in a range of DMC stranded cottons and black Gutterman machine thread.

The class is suitable for all levels of ability and is designed as a gentle and achievable introduction to the technique of ‘Needlepainting’ or ‘Silk Shading’. The majority of the design is completed in Straight Stitch, Satin Stitch and French Knots, however the emphasis is on understanding the importance of stitch line and direction when interpreting a design and will form an ideal introduction to the technique.

All materials will be supplied; fabric with printed design, threads, needles, and a full instruction book with step by step pictures.

There will be plenty of opportunity during the class to ask the Tutor questions and in advance of the class all preparation information will be emailed to you along with an invitation to join the class on the day.

All the stitches covered in this class and more can be found on the RSN Stitchbank.

The class kit will be posted out to you. The kit includes all the materials you require to complete the project. It would be useful to have a pencil and paper in case you wish to take extra notes and a pair of embroidery scissors  and a 8"hoop will be needed.
