Please note that this is an online class. Please click here to view important joining information about online classes.
The class takes place over 6 consecutive weeks:
Thursday 14, 21 & 28 July 2021
Thursday 4, 18 & 25 August 2021
Booking for this class will close on Wednesday 13 July 2021.
Crewelwork Embroidery is a Surface Embroidery technique using 2-ply worsted wool thread, on linen twill fabric. The technique includes many Surface Stitches, including Satin Stitch, Seeding, French Knots, Running Stitch, and more.
This six-week course explores surface stitching further, and in-depth, on how stitches can be used effectively, by scale, with colour, and as a mark on your fabric.
The design will be based on a ‘patchwork’ of samples, worked in a colour palette of your choice. It will be a true sampler of ideas, which can be made into an object of choice, or simply used as reference for further work
There is no kit for this class, which gives an ideal opportunity to use your own crewel wools, or other embroidery threads. You will be sent information in advance, on how to prepare for this course ready for the first day of teaching.
Your Zoom link will be sent a minimum of 48 hours prior to the class and will be sent to the email address you booked the class with. If you do not receive it, check your junk mail to see if it is there and if you still do not have it then please email [email protected]
