Over these 3 online sessions, you will learn all the elements to create two padded candy cane decorations which can be placed on your Christmas tree. During the first two classes, you will learn how to tack the screen-printed design onto the felt, use goldwork techniques to create the cane twists including pearl purl outlines, bright check chipping and spangles to work one of the canes. After the second class you will have three weeks to allow you time to finish all the embroidery so that you have both canes completed. We will be using fine goldwork materials and size 12 needles in this class, if you usually use a magnifier please bring it with you.
Once both the canes are completed, they are then constructed into the final decoration which will involve padding with toy stuffing and using a curved needle to join a plain backing using similar techniques to box making. This will be demonstrated in a final session

The class kit will be posted out to you. Your kit includes everything you need. The only things you’ll need are a pair of embroidery scissors and it would be useful to have a pencil and paper in case you wish to take extra notes.
