The class takes place on the following dates:

Thursday 11, Friday 12 and Saturday 13 November 2021 3pm-5pm

For the Rest of the World bookings bookings will close on Thursday 21 October to allow for the kit to be posted out in time for the class.

For UK and Europe bookings will close on Thursday 4 November to allow for the kit to be posted out in time for the class.

Please note that the cost includes the necessary kit but does not include shipping, which will be added automatically at the checkout.

This design has been inspired from our amazing history. In 1953 the RSN curated an exhibition which celebrated the coronation of HM Queen Elizabeth II which took place at St. James's Palace, London. For this event a souvenir catalogue was created. It’s now time to celebrate our 150th birthday and in honour of our past this design has been worked so you can create your own memento of the occasion.

The design measures 23cm by 9cm (Mounted size 25cm x 12 cm) and is worked on a Cotton Base fabric with embroidery done in DMC threads, Gold Japanese thread and is finished off with chips of bright check Goldwork.

The class is suitable for all levels of ability and basic embroidery stitches have been used which include Back, Satin and Chain Stitch to create an accessible design which will teach techniques you can use in future projects.

All materials will be supplied; fabric with printed design, cotton base fabric, threads, gold threads, needles, and a full instruction book with step by step pictures.

There will be plenty of opportunity during the class to ask the Tutor questions and in advance of the class all preparation information will be emailed to you along with an invitation to join the class on the day.

Your Zoom link will be sent a minimum of 48 hours prior to the class and will be sent to the email address you booked the class with. If you do not receive it, check your junk mail to see if it is there and if you still do not have it then please email [email protected]

The class kit will be posted out to you. Your kit includes everything you need including a full colour, step by step instruction booklet. Due to the width of the design a 10” embroidery hoop will be needed, or similar square frame to hold the fabric at a suitable tension to work the embroidery. Sharp embroidery scissors will be needed as well as Goldwork scissors (or old sharp scissors which you are happy to use with metal threads ). Additional equipment which you may find useful includes a magnifier, a light, beeswax and a velvet board. It would be useful to have a pencil and paper in case you wish to take extra notes.

Attendees Outside the UK
This class will run from 3pm -5pm (15:00 to 17:00 hours) UK local time.
