E5000 Stitching for the Terrified: ‘Oak Tree’
£103.00 (*Price includes the cost of £20.00 for the required kit)
Looking for a new hobby? This class has been specially designed with the absolute beginner to embroidery in mind.
The class will teach essential information about needles, fabric and threads. You will learn how to put fabric in a frame, starting and stopping stitching neatly, and tips for threading needles. You will learn half a dozen of the most commonly occurring stitches: chain, backstitch, open buttonhole, satin stitch, French knots, bullions and whipped chain. There will be plenty of time for you to practise each stitch and by the end of the day you should have a finished embroidery piece. A mini-hoop will be included in the kit so that you can display your work straightaway. Our Tutor can also offer advice about your next steps in embroidery.
The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.
This class will run from 10am-4pm Exeter Community Centre, 17 St David's Hill, Exeter EX4 3RG.
