Congratulations to the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) & RSN Degree team!

12th June, 2020

On Tuesday 9 June 2020, we learnt that the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) has risen four places in the Complete University Guide’s 2021 league table, retaining its position as the highest ranked creative specialist in the country. Rising four places to 44th is testament to our recurring position in the Guide’s Top Five Modern Universities in the UK, despite the challenging circumstances we’ve been operating in.

The RSN Degree, ‘BA (Hons) Hand Embroidery’, the only Degree in hand embroidery, is validated by UCA. It is a three year full time Degree programme based at Hampton Court Palace, west London, and we are linked with the UCA campus in Farnham where the Crafts Study Centre is located.

Vice Chancellor of UCA, Bashir Makhoul, said: “Rising four places to 44th is testament to our recurring position in the Guide’s Top Five Modern Universities in the UK, despite the challenging circumstances we’ve been operating in. In recent months we’ve faced such uncertain times, so this exciting news gives me the encouragement to continue the hard work that the University has been doing so far, and spurs me on to tackle the approaching challenges.

But none of this could be achieved without the continuous and unwavering support of our staff. So, it is with great admiration that I use this opportunity to express my gratitude for their recent adaptability, resourcefulness, and commitment throughout this pandemic.

We are operating in a very different climate to last year, but this ranking alongside our other successes in the Times and Sunday Times University Guide and The Guardian University Guide, will further help strengthen our position as the top creative specialist university in the country, and attracting new applicants for 2020-2021.”

Congratulations goes of course to the RSN Degree team who quickly adapted their teaching methods and support network to ensure the continuous flow of teaching to our students, studying ‘at home’ both in the UK and overseas.

We hope that you are following the Spotlights on our Class of 2020 third years who have produced fantastic and varied work and there are more to come over the coming months!
