This design is a combination of Silk Shading and the application of metal threads, and is based on a heavily decorated court shoe in the collection of the Fashion Museum in Bath.
Stitched on a white fabric ground elements of the shoe stitching will be studied in this class. At the moment the Fashion Museum is temporarily closed. The new home will be located right in the heart of Bath, at the Old Post Office. This gives the city a unique opportunity to create one of the world’s great museums of fashion! It will be more accessible, engage with a wider range of people and tell a greater range of stories than ever before.
The new Fashion Museum will form part of the council’s Milsom Quarter Masterplan, an ambitious 20-year vision to transform the Milsom Quarter area of Bath into a fashion destination for the South-West, attracting creative industries to the area, relocating the Fashion Museum and providing 180 new homes.
