Flo Collingwood

Following her graduation from the RSN three-year Apprenticeship, Flo worked full-time as a Studio embroiderer and teacher while completing a two-year Certificate in Education at Greenwich University.

Flo teaches modules on the RSN Degree programme, the BA (Hons) in Hand Embroidery for Fashion, Interiors, Textile Art. She was part of the team that worked on HRH The Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress and veil in 2011 and she returns to the RSN Studio to work on large projects, such as the dress worn by Naomie Harris to the 2013 Academy Awards Ceremony.

Flo especially enjoys the design stage before starting any embroidery and loves quilts and coverlets, combining silk shaded work with pretty fabrics and contemporary ideas. Examples of Flo’s work can be seen in Tracy A Franklin and Nicola Jarvis’s book, Contemporary Whitework.
