Kathryn Sanders

From Chartered Engineer to Embroiderer; Kathryn has completely transformed her life to follow her passion. After completing the Royal School of Needlework Certificate course in Glasgow, she relocated to join the Future Tutors Programme to pursue a career as a professional embroiderer.

Throughout the course she has assisted teaching on RSN Day Classes, Learning Curve workshops and on the Summer Intensive Certificate & Diploma at Hampton Court Palace. Kathryn’s work has been included in RSN exhibitions and displayed at The Knitting & Stitching Show, London.

In 2019 Kathryn was awarded a scholarship by the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust.

Kathryn graduated from the Future Tutors Programme in July 2021 and is excited to be teaching classes of her own designs hoping to inspire others with her enthusiasm for hand embroidery.

In 2023, Kathryn was honoured to be part of the Embroidery Studio team at the Royal School of Needlework who worked on a number of items for the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla, including The Queen’s Robe of Estate, the Anointing Screen, Chairs of State and the Stole Royal
