Nicola Jarvis

Nicola graduated from the RSN Apprenticeship and now teaches Day Classes at the RSN as well as being Lead Tutor at RSN Midlands. She was appointed Deputy Course Leader on the RSN Foundation Degree. During this appointment she was part of the RSN team working on The Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress.

Nicola worked as a freelance embroidery designer for numerous British fashion companies, during which time she also studied for a first class BA (Hons) and MA in Fine Art, exploring historic stitching through drawing and printmaking.

She was awarded ‘Overall Winner’ of the William Morris Gallery ‘Inspired by Morris’ art competition and staged her solo art and embroidery show ‘The Art of Embroidery: Nicola Jarvis and May Morris’, launched at the William Morris Gallery. She has toured the exhibition to a number of William Morris-linked venues in the UK with funding from Arts Council England.

She now produces a beautiful range of embroidery kits linked to the exhibition artworks, a selection are available from the RSN Shop.

In 2023, Nicola was honoured to be part of the Embroidery Studio team at the Royal School of Needlework who worked on the Anointing Screen for the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
