Sarah joined the Royal School of Needlework’s Future Tutors programme following a career in publishing and a three-year City and Guilds Certificate in Embroidery. She draws inspiration from all things historical, making the RSN’s location at Hampton Court Palace the ideal place to work.

As well as working in the RSN’s Embroidery Studio. Sarah has taught in the UK, Ireland and China, as well as at RSN workshops at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. She has been involved in a variety of RSN projects, including demonstrations for Burberry’s Makers House in partnership with The New Craftsmen; The Hardhome Embroidery produced for HBO’s Game of Thrones television drama series; and work for an evening gown designed by Nicholas Oakwell Couture for the GREAT Britain campaign. Her work has been displayed at the Philip Mould Gallery in London and she also had the honour of teaching The Queen of Malaysia when Her Majesty visited the RSN earlier this year.

In 2023, Sarah was honoured to be part of the Embroidery Studio team at the Royal School of Needlework who worked on the Anointing Screen for the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla
