If you have booked an RSN class in Portsmouth all the information you need to know before attending is listed below.
The venue
Portsmouth classes are usually held from 10am to 4pm at The D-Day Story, Clarence Esplanade, Southsea, Hampshire PO5 3NT – www.theddaystory.com
The museum opens at 10am. Please arrive at 9.45am to ensure a prompt start. Your course fee includes admission to the museum and the 83 metres long Overlord Embroidery stitched by the RSN between 1968 and 1974.
Parking
Paid parking is available in the large Pay and Display car park on Clarence Esplanade next to The D-Day Story. The car park is open 24 hours a day. Follow signs to ‘Southsea seafront’.
There are marked bays for blue badge holders within the car park and on Clarence Esplanade in front of the museum. Parking is free for blue badge holders.

Accessibility
The class is held inside the main museum building. The Dulverton Room is at ground floor level, as are all the galleries. There is a long, low ramp up to the Overlord Embroidery gallery.

Materials
Your kit will be ready for you in the classroom. Any additional equipment needed will be available to borrow from the RSN. It is useful to bring a notepad and pencil, a thimble if you use one and a pair of sharp, favoured embroidery scissors.
Refreshments
There will be a 1 hour break for lunch during the class. There is a café on site or you may want to bring a packed lunch and drinks.

Photography
You may take photographs of your own work in progress and of other students’ work with their permission.
Photography without flash is permitted in the museum exhibition galleries with the exception of the Overlord Embroidery which should not be photographed.
From time to time we may wish to take photographs of your class and of work in progress for use in printed and on-line publicity material. If you would prefer not to be included in these photographs please let us know.
