Schedule

The teaching day is from 10am – 4pm.  Students should arrive by 9:45 am to ensure a prompt 10am start.

Transport

Bus: The 321 bus service travels down Emma Street, and the 320 bus service travels down Shaw Road. Both bus services have stops about 30 meters from the Venue.

Train:  The nearest train station is Eagle Junction Station, which is also served by the Air Train from  Brisbane’s Domestic and International Airports.

Car Parking:  There is plenty of on-street parking in front of the venue.

Accessibility

The studio is on the ground floor.  There is one step down to access the venue. Disabled parking and wheelchair access can be arranged on request.  The kitchen and bathroom are on the ground floor and do not have steps.

Facilities

The venue is fully air conditioned.  Students have access to a kitchen, including a fridge and microwave. There is an covered, outdoor seating area for students to use during lunch.

Refreshments

Tea and coffee are available all day. Students are advised bring their own lunch. There is a small convenience shop and service station across the street.

No food or drink is permitted in the classroom.

A general sewing kit including scissors, a notebook, tape measure and small ruler is always useful but not essential.

If you require a light or magnifier, please bring this with you or alternatively these will be available with a refundable deposit.

Assessment Process

Our assessment process is carried out on finalisation of each of your embroidery techniques. Completed pieces of work must be submitted with all associated paperwork including stitch plans, tonal drawings, design source, original photographs and any other relevant paperwork you feel will help the Assessor understand your choices. Please keep these documents safe in your student folder throughout your tuition and your piece must be clearly named including the paperwork.

Note: Failure to include all relevant paperwork could result in loss of marks and possible postponement to the next Assessment slot.
