Future Tutors Programme

24th January, 2022

Having enjoyed the Christmas Festivities, our Future Tutors were back on site at the beginning of January, ready to get stuck into another busy term.  One of their first classes of the term was the beginning of their Gold Symbols module.  This teaches the fundamentals of Goldwork and how to handle the delicate materials used.  Goldwork is synonymous with both Royalty and Ecclesiastical vestments and is just one of the many techniques the RSN is famous for.

Our Future Tutors have also just been given the opportunity to design a special kit for the Learning Curves at The Knitting & Stitching Shows, due to take place in the autumn.  They have been asked to put forward designs which represent our 150th anniversary celebrations.  Staff in the Education Department will have the very difficult task of choosing one or two designs to go forward for the kits.  Once completed, the chosen kit designs will appear on The Knitting & Stitching website, ready for people to book the classes.

The Future Tutors Programme is now open for applications for the year starting September 2022.  If you would like a career in embroidery and love teaching, this course could be for you.  For further information, visit our website here.
