Angela Bishop
Since graduating from the Future Tutors Programme in 2016, during which time she was awarded the Rachel McGowan Teaching Award, Angela has taught for the RSN in Rugby, Hampton Court Palace, and Williamsburg. Since Lockdown she has been teaching the Certificate and Diploma Programme online along with classes for the Online International Summer Schools. She worked on the Magna Carta Art Embroidery by Cornelia Parker and the wedding dress for L’Wren Scott.
Her work has been exhibited at venues in the UK and Australia, including the RSN 150th Exhibition at the Fashion and Textile Museum, and the inaugural exhibition at the Bankside Gallery London for the Worshipful Company of Broderers where she is a Liveryman. In 2022 she filmed the RSN Online Self Paced Course on Appliqué embroidery.
Her work has been published in magazines including the UK Embroiderer’s Stitch magazine, Australian Textile Forum, as well as the RSN ‘Raised Embroidery’ and ‘Goldwork’ books. She has written a book ‘Figure Work in Embroidery”, demonstrating various stitch techniques used to stich the human figure.
In 2023, Angela was honoured to be part of the Embroidery Studio team at the Royal School of Needlework who worked on the Anointing Screen for the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla.”
