The Hand & Lock Prize Winners

Congratulations to RSN winners and finalists in the Hand & Lock Prize for Embroidery 2021. Future Tutor Graduate Kate Pankhurst and Degree Graduate Lucy Martin won two awards each!
Kate Pankhurst won 1st Prize in the Textile Art Student Category and the Worshipful Company of Gold & Silver Wyre Drawers Associate Award for her ‘Lockdown O’Clock. Lucy Martin won the Worshipful Company of Broderers Associate Award and the RSN Associate Award for Innovation and Technical Excellence in Hand Embroidery for ‘The Preciousness of Life’.
Congratulations also go to RSN Degree Graduate Millie Whitehead, who won third place in the Fashion Student Category for ‘Beyond The Binary Wave’; RSN Degree Graduate Rebecca Offredi, who won third place in the Textile Art Student Category for ‘Odysseys of Grief’ and RSN 3rd Year Degree Student Sabina Lima, who won third place in the Textile Art Open Category for ‘Sentient’.
Congratulations also goes to other shortlisted student Felicity Billing, RSN Degree Graduate 2021, a finalist in the Fashion Student Category for ‘Shine: The Unseen’. Georgie Pike RSN Degree Graduate 2021, for the Worshipful Company of Gold & Silver Wyre Drawers Associate Award, for ‘Enlightenment’.
We would also like to congratulate RSN Degree Course Leader, Angie Wyman, who has been a Mentor for Finalists of the Hand & Lock Prize for Embroidery for a number of years. This year, Angie’s mentees Rachel Ellenbogen, from Parsons School of Design in New York, was awarded 1st Prize in the Fashion Student Category and Lucia Palma, from Lima Peru, came third in the Fashion Open Category. At the prize giving Angie was also able to catch up with 2020 mentee Eva Van Den Top, from The Netherlands, who came third in the Fashion Open Category last year.
