Description

Silk has been used in embroidery for even longer than wool, making its way across the Silk Route from China. It has been used in embroidery not only because it takes colour well, but also for its sheen and ability to be worked very finely. It is particularly beautiful when used in silk shading. In 2009 the RSN was commissioned to embroider a Tudor Rose design in silk shading which was displayed at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Benefits of becoming a Silk Circle Supporter:
