Description

Crowning Glory Goldwork Kit by RSN Fellow and Tutor Sarah De Rousset-Hall. The beautiful crown image was inspired by a historical piece from the RSN collection, which itself is a representation of the St Edward’s Crown in the Crown Jewels held in the Tower of London.

Worked on printed cotton, for this kit you will use Padding techniques and surface stitches including Carpet Felt Padding, Felt Padding, Soft String Padding, Kid Leather and Long & Short Stitch.
Couching Techniques including: Japanese Passing, Silver Passing with Italian Shading, Millary, Spangles and Pearl Purl.
Cutwork Techniques including: Chipping, Cutwork over Felt, Cutwork over Soft String, Essing, Essing over Cutwork and Pearl Purl Cutwork.

Level: Advanced

Your kit will include all the materials you require to complete the design including the design printed onto cotton (with purple watercolour effect), Gilt, silver plated and other metal threads, sew on crystals, kid leather, padding materials, sewing threads, beeswax and needles. The kit will also include full written instructions.

You will also need an 8” hoop and embroidery scissors. A pair of fine nosed tweezers and a mellor may be helpful but are not essential.
