Autumn Wreath Embroidery Kit by Sarah Smith

£100.00

Autumn Wreath

All of the most vibrant colours of Autumn are found in this wreath design by RSN Tutor Sarah Smith, and will introduce you to a range of embroidery stitches including the much admired technique of Silk Shading or ‘painting with a needle’.

It is worked in a combination of Au Ver A Soie Soie d’Alger and Stef Francis variegated stranded silk. This allows you to achieve all the subtle colour changes of the maple and beech leaves without changing the thread in your needle. It is stitched on a high thread count, pale grey Belgian linen which complements the vibrant colours beautifully.

It is aimed primarily at stitchers who already have some basic experience of embroidery, although the kit includes detailed, photographic instructions to take you step by step through all of the stitches so that you gain confidence as you progress.

The stitches covered are: Starting and Finishing your thread; Split Stitch; French Knots, Silk Shading, Fishbone Stitch, Stem Stitch, and Padded Satin Stitch.

It is worked in a vibrant palette of reds, greens and oranges and would make a lovely seasonal centrepiece for Autumn or Thanksgiving. It would also transfer well to napkins.

Each kit contains: Detailed 16 page, full-colour instruction leaflet, a ‘Thread Palette’ of all the threads required to complete the project, clearly separated, labelled and cut into prepared lengths, 36 cm x 36 cm high quality Belgian linen with the design printed on, John James Needles (x2 size 12 Embroidery, x1 size 10 Embroidery and x1 size 7 Embroidery).

The finished size of the embroidery is approximately 15 cm in diameter.

You will also need embroidery scissors and an 8” ring frame to complete the project.
