Description
Please note: Due to the use of handwoven linen, produced to the specifications of the original Bayeux Tapestry fabric, and naturally dyed crewel wool threads, this kit is made in limited quantities.
Create your own Bayeux Tapestry Peacock using authentic materials in a design by historian and Royal School of Needlework (RSN) Fellow, Dr Alexandra Makin.
Suitable for beginner to intermediate stitchers, this kit features a design hand printed onto specially woven linen, crafted to match the specifications of the original Bayeux Tapestry fabric. The embroidery is worked with 2-ply lambswool crewel threads, hand dyed using natural dyes to recreate the rich, subtle tones of the historic tapestry.
The project includes three stiches used on the Bayeux Tapestry:
- Stem stitch
- Satin stitch
- Laid and couched work
Kit contents:
