This gorgeous Goldwork and Silk Shaded Daisies kit symbolizes new beginnings and celebrates the long-standing partnership between the D-Day Story and the RSN who stitched the Overlord Embroidery from 1968 to 1974.

Helen Steven’s design includes long and short Silk Shading with Goldwork techniques including some felt padding, purl pearl, couching, cutwork and double looped edge stitch. This design is suitable for those with some knowledge of stitching.

About Helen Stevens

Helen graduated from the RSN Apprenticeship and now teaches RSN Day Classes, on the RSN Future Tutors Programme and embroiders in the RSN Studio where she continues to assist on a variety of projects.
In 2007 she gained an Art and Design degree from Brighton University, specialising in metalwork and jewellery. Helen has exhibited her embroidery at the popular Stitches in Time event at Parham House, West Sussex.
In 2023, Helen was honoured to be part of the Embroidery Studio team at the Royal School of Needlework who worked on a number of items for the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla, including The Queen’s Robe of Estate, the Anointing Screen, Chairs of Estate and the Stole Royal.”
