With Paul Rennie Wednesday 25 November, 7pm UK

The Liberty Scarf is a captivating tribute to one of fashion’s most enduring luxury accessories, celebrating its rich heritage and exquisite artistry. From the early 1900s, when silk scarves were first printed at Liberty’s own printworks in London, the Liberty scarf evolved into a timeless emblem of effortless sophistication, admired for its lustrous, finely woven silk and distinctive, intricate prints.

Showcasing Liberty’s global reputation for innovation and mastery in textile craftsmanship, The Liberty Scarf unveils the beauty and precision behind each scarf, drawing from Liberty’s extraordinary archive – from nature inspired classics and heritage motifs to bold abstract designs reflecting post-war and contemporary influences.

About the Speaker:
Paul Rennie is an enthusiastic collector of vintage headscarves and has worked with museums in London, Paris,
Prague and New York. Rennie is also an academic and author: he teaches Graphic Communication Design at
Central St Martins, University of the Arts London (from where he received his PhD), and has written extensively
about design and fashion.
