ONL26027 RSN Studio: Plum Blossom Branch
£360.00
This is an online class and will be taught over five Tuesday sessions from 1pm-4pm on 21 April, 5 and 19 May, and 2 and 16 of June 2025.
The RSN Embroidery Studio has produced a series of 15 kits - one for each of the 15 decades since the founding of the Royal School of Needlework. The kit designs are taken from our archives and have been developed in a range of techniques and levels for embroiderers to enjoy and learn.
This beautiful design has been taken from an RSN archive piece, which would have originally been a four panel screen. It is inspired by the Japonisme Revival that took place in the 1870s. Japonisme is a French term that refers to the popularity and influence of Japanese art following the forced reopening of foreign trade with Japan in 1858.
In this three day silk class you will stitch an advanced plum blossom design from the RSN studio. This design will be worked on a 10 inch ring frame provided by the RSN for the duration of the class. This class includes the kit in the cost of the class.
This design is designed to be worked on a 10 inch ring frame. This class includes the kit in the cost of the class. If you would like to work this design on a slate frame you will need to frame up with calico before the start of the class as there will be no time for framing up in class time. The size of the completed embroidery piece is 14cm x 28cm.
