Bee Hive – Introduction to Needlelace for Stumpwork with Rachel Doyle
View map
£250.00
The focus of this two day class will be creating needlelace to use within an embroidered design of a beehive. Needlelace is, as the name implies, a lace made with a needle rather than woven with bobbins.
Day one will concentrate on padding the design and making the individual lace panels to apply over it. Day two will look at the surface embroidery stitches and detached picot stitch to create the raised leaves.
This introductory class will give you an understanding of how to create shaped needlelace for further designs. The elements will all be started in class with demonstrations and written instructions provided. All materials are included to complete the design. The finished embroidery is approximately 7cm x 7cm.
Please note this is an in-person class at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU.
