Inspired by the Tree of Life symbolism in Jacobean-style crewel work, ‘Blossom Wood’ is a large scale contemporary crewel work project featuring a stylized oak tree populated with ornamental birds, animals and insects. Stitch techniques within the piece include, Stem Stitch, Split Stitch, Satin Stitch and variations, Long and Short, Laid Work, Trellis Patterns, Couching and variations, Buttonhole Stitch, Chain Stitch and French Knots.
The project will offers a wonderful opportunity to develop your surface embroidery skills and finesse your technique, while working on a beautiful and stimulating design.
The kit will include everything you require to complete the project.
You will need a rotating frame or a slate frame can be used to work the project, and a pair of embroidery scissors
