Combine the traditional hand embroidery techniques of Goldwork and Silk Shading to create this beautiful Christmas spray on a printed watercolour background design.
This design will introduce you to many of the stitches and techniques which are essential in the art of Goldwork and Silk Shading embroidery including: split stitch, long and short stitch, satin stitch, padded satin stitch, applying felt padding and applying gold kid leather as well as using gilt metal threads such as Pearl Purl, Bright Check, Twist and Japanese Thread. Other goldwork techniques known as couching and chipping are also used in this design.
This kit includes all of the threads, fabrics and needles required to complete this elegant hand embroidery design and the clear instruction booklet with step by step photographs will guide you easily through your project.
The cotton satin fabric, printed with the background watercolour detail, is provided with the design already transferred on for you.
Materials included in the kit: printed cotton satin fabric, calico fabric, size 10 embroidery needles, plunging needle, DMC stranded cotton threads, Gutermann machine thread, felt, gilt metal threads, kid leather and beeswax.

Additional equipment required: 8 inch ring frame, embroidery scissors, paper scissors and a fine tipped marker pen.
Other useful equipment: goldwork scissors and other goldwork embroidery tools such as a mellor and velvet board may also be useful but are not essential
