£142.00
Tuesday 20 May is World Bee Day and is a day when the world comes together to acknowledge the vital role of the bee in food security and biodiversity. The main objective of World Bee Day is to raise awareness of threats to bees and the dwindling numbers and what we can all do to help even in a small way.
Join RSN Tutor Helen Stevens to celebrate and bring this delightful bee to life. Techniques included are Felt Padding, Surface Stitches of Back Stitch and Chain Stitch, gold stitches of Cut Work and Pearl Purl.
During the day we will take the opportunity to explore the gardens at Hampton Court Palace so you can see and hear and see the bees in action and hear from a member of the Gardens Team just why the wildflower meadow is so important. In addition to your finished bee, which you can proudly wear, you will also take home a packet of bee friendly wildflower seeds to plant and hopefully attract bees to your own garden or window box.
The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.
You can explore many more stitches on the RSN Stitch Bank.
Please note this is an onsite class which will run from 10am-4pm on Tuesday 25 May 2025 at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU.
