The Pansy, or Heartsease, has long been associated with love and romance. Its heart-shaped petals were once believed to cure a broken heart. Inspired by early 17th-century embroidery styles, this design features silk-shaded pansy flowers surrounded by burden-stitched leaves and swirling stems stitched onto silk duchess satin fabric.

All elements are worked in beautiful silk floss threads, framed by an oval border of gilt wire and spangles to give it a rich, ornate appearance.

Students will need to bring – 8" ring frame, embroidery and goldwork scissors and a laying tool
