The RSN Embroidery Studio has produced a series of 15 kits – one for each of the 15 decades since the founding of the Royal School of Needlework. The kit designs are taken from our archives and have been developed in a range of techniques and levels for embroiderers to enjoy and learn.
Crewelwork Posy
A charming crewelwork embroidery design inspired by a historic piece from the collection of the Royal School of Needlework. Carefully adapted, the design has been reinterpreted using DMC naturally dyed crewel wools, worked on a linen ground.
This piece demonstrates how a strong and timeless design can be successfully translated across different techniques and materials, while preserving its original character and decorative appeal.
