Description
Jacobean Crewelwork Kit
Created by the RSN Studio, this kit is inspired by a curtain or screen design that was originally produced by the Royal School of Needlework Design Room.
A striking embroidery design inspired by a piece from the archives of the Royal School of Needlework. Originally created as a decorative canvas stool top, this bold and stylised composition has been thoughtfully reimagined for a contemporary audience.
The design features a dynamic partridge nestled within a golden pear tree, combining strong decorative form with rich surface detail. Reinterpreted by the studio, it reflects both the heritage of the original piece and a fresh, modern sensibility.
Incorporating a luxurious blend of appliqué and intricate metal thread embroidery, the kit offers depth, texture, and a subtle sense of opulence. Traditional techniques are brought together in a way that is both expressive and rewarding, making this an engaging project for embroiderers drawn to detailed and decorative work.
