RSN Studio: The Nation’s Garden Embroidery Kit- Flower Emblems from the United Kingdom

£160.00

15 DECADES OF EMBROIDERY
The RSN Embroidery Studio has produced a series of 15 kits - one for each of the 15 decades since the founding of the Royal School of Needlework. The kit designs are taken from our archives and have been developed in a range of techniques and levels for embroiderers to enjoy and learn.
Inspired by a hand-painted canvas created to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, The Nation’s Garden is a refined blend of heritage and contemporary embroidery. The original design, produced by the Royal School of Needlework Paint Room, has been carefully reimagined by the RSN Embroidery Studio to create a piece that honours tradition while embracing modern techniques.
The design features the rose, daffodil and thistle, symbolising the nations of the United Kingdom, and is enriched with delicate insect motifs inspired by the Coronation of King Charles III robe. This thoughtful combination of historic symbolism and contemporary detail gives the piece a unique narrative quality.
Unlike traditional painted canvases that would typically be worked entirely in Tent Stitch, this kit introduces a more varied and engaging approach through the use of counted patterns alongside surface embroidery stitches. The result is a design with greater texture, depth and visual interest, making it both an enjoyable and rewarding project to stitch.
Perfect for embroiderers who appreciate heritage craftsmanship and wish to explore a broader range of techniques, The Nation’s Garden offers a meaningful way to connect with the rich tradition of embroidery while creating a beautifully detailed finished piece.
The kit includes all materials required to complete the design, along with a detailed instruction booklet to guide you through the process.
