Description
Learn the skills of Metal Thread Embroidery in this William Morris inspired Strawberry brooch design.
Strawberry Thief was first produced in 1883 and was inspired by William Morris’s observation of the thrushes creeping under the strawberry nets to steal the fruit in the garden of his Oxfordshire home, Kelmscott Manor. It remains one of his most popular designs today.
Now you can have your own little piece of the pattern in the form of a Strawberry brooch or decoration made with delicious metal threads in red, gold, pink and blue.
In this kit you will use the following stitches – Couching, Cutwork loops and Pearl purl edges, and finish it off with 3D silk purl leaves in the blue of the original print. Once complete the embroidery can be cut out, backed and made into a decorative hanging or brooch measuring approximately 3.5×5.5cm.
This kit includes everything you need to complete the kit including hoop. Brooch fitting not included.
You will also need Embroidery scissors, flat head screwdriver, pins and double sided tape.
