RSN Friends - Priority Booking is Open
This class is currently available for Priority Booking by RSN Friends only. General booking opens for all on Friday 25 July 2025. |
Join Jen Goodwin, RSN Tutor and the author of Blackwork Embroidery, Techniques and Projects, online as she introduces you to all the major principles of Blackwork embroidery.
Blackwork is a traditional form of counted embroidery worked on linen in black thread. Historically, Blackwork is associated with the Tudor period but its history stretches back further and has been reinvented on multiple occasions. Modern Blackwork is now more associated with detailed shaded work which can create a photorealistic feel when worked properly.
The RSN has developed this approach through many years of Apprentices and is continued in the current Professional Embroidery Tutor programme.
The course is aimed at the beginner embroiderer and runs over three terms of ten weeks each.
Term One will run from 7pm - 9pm UK on the following ten Thursdays:
September 11, 18, 25
October 2, 9 (no class on 16 , 23 or 30)
November 6, 13, 20, 27
