Little Bird is one of a series of designs inspired by one of the stars of the Royal School of Needlework collection, the 4 panelled crewelwork room screen. The design has a lovely little bird similar to the one that sits in first panel of the original screen. He is surrounded by flowers, leaves and pretty butterflies that echo those in the other panels, and is worked on linen twill using Appletons crewel wools. This the ideal piece if you want to perfect your long and short stitch and trellis stitch as these are used most often within the design, but you’ll also cover, whipped chain, stem stitch, fishbone, closed fly, french knots and bullion knots. Suitable for intermediate and advanced stitchers.
